Short Course in Embodied-Relational Mindfulness
Mindfulness - a Way to Be Fully Present in Your Life.
When we can be truly present and honest with ourselves, then we can be more authentic with others – be that with family, friends or colleagues. A mindfulness practice can be a real foundation for this way of relating. If you are a therapist, it is also a great way to attend to your own needs and wellbeing so you can support others.
What can Mindfulness Help with?
Who is the Course for?
It is suitable for anyone who is curious about the benefits and open to exploring through direct experience. It may also be of interest to therapists to enhance their self-care. The emphasis will be on embodied learning – inviting you out of your head and into the present moment!
If you have any questions, call Louise on 07720 706091 or use the form under 'Contact Us'.
Who are the Course Facilitators?
Between us we have nearly 50 years’ combined experience in awareness practices, much of it grounded in mindfulness: Michael has over 30 years' experience, including several years as a Buddhist monk in the Therevada tradition; while Louise discovered Vipassana meditation 20 years ago, before embracing mindfulness. In co-facilitating this course, we offer the richness of our combined backgrounds to support you in the best possible way.
What will it Cover?
What is the Structure?
It takes place over two consecutive Saturdays with a follow-up later on.
Most of the content will be covered in the first two days. Each day will include time to 'arrive', settle together, space for different practices to be practised, and time for feedback or ‘questions and answers’. The benefit of having a follow-up session, is that it allows you to deepen your own practice before bringing back questions, challenges and discoveries to the group.
What are the Dates?
How big will the Group be?
This is a small group opportunity with a maximum of 6-8 participants. We believe small groups allow more time to get to know each other and allow us to be more responsive to individual and group needs, as they emerge. Groups provide a rich learning environment.
What else will be involved?
We encourage you to establish a daily 20-minute practice (which can be broken down into 5-minute periods if you wish). We also suggest you keep a journal to record your progress and any barriers to this. Your journal is also a place to jot down queries for the final session.
What will I gain at the End?
A certificate of attendance will be available on completion of all sessions. This course can count as 15 hours of continuing professional development (CPD) for professionals.
How do I Book?
Your place will be secured upon receipt of a deposit. To place a deposit simply email Michael using the form under 'Contact Us' and he will send you details of how to pay.
